How do you measure the importance of Literacy? Studies show that if a child hasn't learned how to read by third grade will struggle all through high school and for years to come. The Rotary Club of Goodyear PebbleCreek understands this importance. Through our club's sponsorship of the Dolly Parton Imagination Program, we have enrolled 785 children between birth up to age five to receive a book each month delivered directly to their home. Since inception, 275 children have graduated. Thanks to local businesses like Karston's Ace Hardware on Estrella Pkwy who have set up a monthly program for customers to donate their change to a non-profit program. Karston's has donated over $6000 to the DPIL through this program. Thanks Dave Karston for your generosity!!
